Mycare ensures trust and safety are at the heart of everything we do. Our solutions support people, helping them to live well at home and in their communities. That’s why we are very proud to share that Mycare has been accredited under Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard, New Zealand’s current health and disability services standard. This accreditation recognises that Mycare’s systems and practices meet nationally defined expectations for safe, high‑quality, person and whānau-centred services.
Ngā Paerewa brings together and updates New Zealand’s health and disability service standards so they focus much more strongly on people’s outcomes, their voices and their rights. The standard emphasises person‑centred and whānau‑centred care, safety, continuous quality improvement, cultural responsiveness, and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way services are designed and delivered. It applies across a wide range of health and disability settings, including home and community support services.
For our organisers (people and whānau arranging support), Ngā Paerewa accreditation is another way of showing that Mycare takes safety, quality and rights seriously. It means the platform’s underlying policies, processes and governance have been independently checked against a national standard that is focused on people’s wellbeing and experiences of care. This gives organisers extra confidence that when they use Mycare to find, manage and pay for support at home, they are doing so through a service that meets recognised quality and safety benchmarks.
For our care workers, the accreditation recognises the importance and professionalism of their work. Ngā Paerewa highlights workforce capability, safe environments and continuous improvement as key parts of quality services. Working through an accredited platform means care workers can be confident that Mycare’s guidance on best practice, safety, and quality is aligned with current national standards.
For us as a business, this accreditation is an external validation of the processes and safeguards that sit behind the platform. It confirms that our approach to things like risk management, quality systems, and continuous improvement aligns with national expectations for health and disability services. It also sits alongside existing trust and safety measures such as worker vetting, best‑practice guidance, and support for safe, high‑quality care in people’s homes.
In practical terms, this milestone will help Mycare continue to strengthen its tools, resources and support for both organisers and workers over time. As Ngā Paerewa is designed around continuous improvement, it provides a clear framework to keep reviewing and lifting how Mycare supports safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care in homes and communities across Aotearoa.
